Scoring in Spades

Basic Scoring

• Teams earn 10 points per trick bid if they meet their bid exactly.
• Overbidding earns 10 points per bid trick plus 1 point per extra trick, but can incur sandbag penalties if these are enabled in the settings. 
• Underbidding results in a penalty of 10 points per trick bid.

Special Bids

• Nil: If successful, it earns 50/100 points depending on the game settings; if a player earns 50 points in a game of 250, 100 if the settings for a game of 500 are enabled. If not, it results in a 50/100 point penalty.
• Blind Nil: If successful, it earns 100/200 points depending on the game settings. If not, it results in a 100/200 point penalty.

Sandbagging

• If a team takes more tricks than a bid, the extra tricks are sandbags. Accumulating 10 sandbags results in a penalty of 50/100 points, and the sandbag count resets.
